“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer”
We are facing a time of challenge, where prayer, worship and fellowship with others feels increasingly important, and yet where any plans to gather together as a worshipping community are on hold, due to social distancing and self-isolation to minimise the effect of the Coronavirus.
Many people are asking...
'How do we keep our faith strong in this time and how, if we find ourselves in isolation, do we maintain a rhythm of prayer and worship?'
In Dassett Magna we have initiated a new DIGITAL CHURCH with services every day at 10.30am and 6pm via a live DIGITAL link using the ZOOM
conferencing service. Zoom allows you to talk to a group of people from your own home. You can gather together, with video and microphones on or off as you want whilst still being able to see and hear the service.
To access the service
1. CLICK THE CLOCK at the appointed time and you will be taken straight into the service.
2. The first time you do this you will be invited to download ‘Zoom’ from the app store or from your browser.
This is a FREE SERVICE. Follow the screen instructions which will include 'Sign up' and 'Activate Account"
3. Once it is set up each time you CLICK THE CLOCK at the appointed time you will be automatically connected to DIGITAL CHURCH.
We recommend you download ‘Zoom’ plenty of time before you want to come to your first service.
If you have difficulties contact Reverend Nicki 07769871237

PRAYERS FOR OUR TIME
Anxiety and fear
the world feels strange right now.
The news is full of stories about Coronavirus.
Some people are worried that they might get ill.
Others are anxious for their family and friends.
When fear makes it hard to breathe,
and anxiety seems to be the order of the day,
slow us down, keep us calm
and give us your comfort Lord;
help us to reach out with our hearts,
when we can't touch with our hands;
help us to be socially connected,
when we have to be socially distant;
help us to love as perfectly as we can,
knowing that "perfect love casts out all fear."
Help us to turn to you in our uncertainty and fear.
For Healthcare Workers
Loving God, we place into your care
all our doctors, nurses and healthcare workers.
Give them courage of heart
and strength of mind and body.
Keep them safe from harm.
May they know our deep gratitude
for all they are doing
to heal and help those affected
by the coronavirus.
God of all consolation
may they know your protection and peace.
Bless them in these challenging days
and bless their families. Amen.
If you have loved ones you would like us to pray for (and of course yourselves!) please message Reverend Nicki Chatterton with the names.
May we who are merely inconvenienced by social isolation
remember those whose lives are at stake.
May we who think we are safe because we are young
remember we do this to safeguard those most vulnerable.
May we who have the luxury of working from home
remember those who must choose
between preserving their health, or serving the needs of others.
May we who now homeschool our children
have patience, resilience and inspiration.
May we who are losing our margin money, in the tumult of the economic market
remember those who have no margin at all.
May we who settle in for a quarantine at home
remember those who have no home.
May we who are frustrated by being cooped up with family
remember those who live alone and have no personal contact with anyone.
During this time, when we cannot physically wrap our arms around each other,
let us yet find ways to be the loving embrace of you, our Lord to our neighbours. Amen.
