Book of Common Prayer
A quiet service which lasts about 40 minutes and uses traditional language as we gently connect with the deepest truths about ourselves and the God who created us. The perfect early start to your Sunday!
The celebration of Holy Communion or the Eucharist (meaning “thanksgiving”) lies at the heart of our life as a church. Here we encounter the life-changing presence of Jesus Christ amongst us as we gather together, explore the meaning of Scripture for our lives, and share bread and wine in the sacrament Holy Communion. Finally we leave with a renewed commitment to share the love of God with others in our lives during the week.
B.C.P. Morning Prayer
Book of Common Prayer
A service which uses traditional language. Like Evening Prayer (and in contrast to Communion), it may be led by a Layperson. This service may or may not include hymns.
Prayer & Praise
These are Lay led services which include a bible reading and reflection, prayer and hymns.
These services follow the same liturgy (words). Both include hymns but in Evensong part of the liturgy is sung.
This beautiful service provides the perfect opportunity for prayerful reflection and thanksgiving at the start of the week (and perhaps the end of a busy weekend!).
In Evensong the wonderful choral music draws us to praise God and open our hearts to his love for us in Jesus Christ.
In Fenny Compton
This is a fun way of being church for families. It is based on hospitality, creativity and celebration and includes bible story telling, crafts, song, food, fun and laughter.
Starts with 'Tea & Hospitality'. A time to gather and chat before having a short, interactive, informal service of worship. This is followed by separate activities for children and adults to learn and grow together with Jesus designed to help all explore the bible and Christian spirituality through song, discussion and a variety of creative activities.
Time to Pray
Each Monday we have a weekly informal time of prayer which rotates around the parishes. Our church buildings are open during daylight hours giving our community the opportunity to drop in and prayer corners offer visitors resources for prayer and reflection.
